Pawtucket Youth Soccer (RI) Accepting Fall 2022 Registrations Now!

This program is designed to bring an opportunity to learn and play soccer to any boy or girl, who has a cognitive or physical disability. The program is carried out by volunteers, with financial support from US Soccer and youth soccer organizations such as Pawtucket Youth Soccer. Only a handful of communities throughout Rhode Island offer TOPSoccer and we are excited to be able to be one of them.

TOPSoccer is a program designed for special needs children between the ages of 5 through 15. It is a non-competitive, co-ed program which allows participants to be introduced to the basic skills of the game and work on fundamentals in a safe environment while having fun throughout the process. All children must have a parent or guardian with them at the field at all times. Parents are welcome to assist but are not required.

NEW: Introducing Sensory-Friendly Library Bags! at the Community Libraries of Providence (RI)

Sensory-friendly library bags feature items that help young library users, who are sensitive to light, sound, bright colors or other stressors, to feel more comfortable in our spaces. Each sturdy, blue tote bag also contains information, in English and Spanish, to help children and their families get the most out of their library visits.

The bags, as well as new dyslexia support materials, are available at all nine Community Libraries of Providence.

These sensory-friendly resources have been made possible thanks to grant funding from the National Library of Medicine's 2022 Collection Equity Award.
